Subject: Re: [LPNY DISCUSS] Re: Nolan vs. Russo Date: Tue, 27 Apr 2004 00:30:34 -0400 To: From: Bob Armstrong I went into Saturday prejudice for Nolan . He's a good guy and stronger than any of the candidates in 2000 other than Browne . Gary Snyder's immediate endorsement of Russo seemed based on insufficient data to me . I came out of Saturday's convention strongly in favor of Russo= . I agree with Jim . We need someone who bluntly states we are in a police state and we must stop it . I also was very impressed by how he handled Sloan . Slam-dunk . He'll need that talent in the battles he's taking on . We don't need a debater , we need a fighter . I can understand how he has been a successful producer working with world class talent . I am surprised that Joe , who is Manhattan LP's angry middle-aged man with sometimes loose verbiage , doesn't identify with Russo . My issues with Russo are his excessive but rather shallow attacking of the current economy which is likely to be fairly decent until Bush's bills come due , and his arcane attack on the Federal Reserve System which is not about to be changed . I also worry about his hinting at conspiracy theories about 09/11 .
