 Reminds me of a trip across Baja CA from Tijuana to Mexicali=
 back in the
 `60s where the road rises inconspicuously from sea level up to=
 perhaps 1800
 meters over a distance of a couple of hundred kilometers , and=
 suddenly ,
 as you drive between a couple of rock formations , you find=
 yourself gazing
 over a cliff diving down to below sea level .
