 I happened to catch a movie biography of Gordon Liddy recently=
 .
 They have a scene of him as a kid in a class giving the=
 straight
 armed salute while reciting the pledge . The kids are saluting 
 palms up rather than down .

 This is used to foreshadow a later scene when he uses the Nazi
 salute in prison years later .
