It seems to be a list of how you think the state should spend its taken money and interfere in our lives in ways slightly different than their current priorities . The government should not be allowed to spend ANY money on issue advocacy . Think about the fact that some of your resources were taken from you to support a cause to which you are strongly opposed . And you have that much less to promulgate your opposing view . How does that square with freedom of speech ? Bloomberg's ads pushing his smoking ban are particularly egregious , both fiscally and constitutionally . Your naivete with respect to the realities of the global energy market is also apparent . With respect to gun locks , I think John Perry's revolver was the first gun I ever saw which did not a safety - which in themselves have always provided a level of child proofing on most families' guns . For many people , locks make sense , for others they are an irrelevant expense . Andrea's observations are dead on . With respect to training , as it stands , it is illegal for you to go to a gun club , at least here in the city , and rent a gun to take lessons with . How bright does that show the government to be ? On Sat, 23 Nov 2002 18:44:06 -0000, greghevia wrote: > it just makes sense to me to be safe about=A0weaponry. Locks are not free , they are bundled . And they were universal looong before the government morphed into our all-pervading nanny . > If you're gonna spend=A01000 dollars on a gund, might as well= get > a 20 dollar lockf or free. Good marketing point and a lot of gun retailers picked up on it right away . -- A note about energy : GE announced in their analyst meeting Thursday that they have bought a windmill company for $250M . Wind energy costs are down to as little as $0.04 per Kw , and they feel with their synergies in generator , gearbox , aerodynamics , etc , technologies , and marketing , it should be meet their profitability criteria . You may find it quite educational . -- =A0Bob Armstrong -- http://CoSy.com -- 212-285-1864 http://CoSy.com/K/CoSy.htm : =A0Ultimate NoteComputing =A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A011/23/2002 2:02:55 PM
