I agree, it seems like a fun, family event and surprised at= the poor response. However, we didn't even start making= costumes and I don't know how convincing we would be with just a= small handful of people. So I don't know, I'm leaning= against it without a larger group. (Though, the= parent event that spawned this, Guns for Tots, only had a= handful of people too.)

Before anyone gets too caught up= in planning costumes and whatnot, you should all know that the= response to my many requests for volunteers for the "Mermaid= Militia" at the Coney Island Mermaid Parade has been terrible.= So far, I count a total of 5: Bonnie, Bob, Nic, Dawn and me. I= hit up the lpny_manhattan and manhattanlp-business lists several= times, as well as the scope-nyc list. We sent out an= announcement to our Manhattan LP email database, which includes= everyone in LPHQ's database for Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx and= Staten Island. Nobody is interested.

I'm surprised,= because I thought it sounded like a terrific idea and a lot of= fun. What do you guys think? Is it even worth doing if it's just= the 5 of us? I'm on the fence.
