Well, actually: the green netting will show up better against the aqua, probably. I found an old green sheet in the rag bag (really a rubbermaid container) that I can make somthing out of! :-) MAYBE sashes, if I think it will work with the netting as a sash/tail. Maybe a banner, but it's pretty thin fabric. Oh, BTW. About the "netting hanging from the shoulders" idea I'd had--Dawn asked what that was supposed to be. The answer I didn't say (too hard to explain then), is "TIPPETS." :-) Old-old-fashioned vestigial sleeves that hang down from behind shoulder, behind the arms--sometimes all the way to the floor. Perfectly appropriate? Probably not--just an idea, and the real answer to your question Saturday. ;-) Yes, I will need to you get me a pair of scrub pants, too. My whole week is FULL now! Just let me know how much they are. The people who have different sorts of green pants can be color guard (carrying flags/banner in front) or we can put them in a row behind the matching people...that's how to make it look less motley. Having a bunch identical will help w/that, even if not everyone is identical. Real armies have different uniforms for different types of specialties. Bob--your experience will come in handy in giving us some nice touches of realism for our street theatre. Think about "drills" we can do when the media come by with cameras--we can save most of it for then, once we have the basic moves down. Parades are for marching! Looks like we get to go swimming afterwards? Cool! Then, dinner: Primorski, in Brighton Beach. I'll be calling them about reservations after I wake up later today. Bedtime now... Once again, here's the latest: http://ny.lp.org/activism/mermaid-parade/ still needs: costume info, flyer, chants (and chanties?)
