Thanks Jim,

I would urge everyone participating to order a pair of the= scrubs. The more we look like a cohesive military unit with standard uniforms,= weapons and gear, the more humorous and appealing our appearance will= be. This is show business, folks, it's about looking good and entertainment. Our= production is still way under the average Hollywood movie budget of $20= million. Let's get with the program.

I'm looking forward to seeing how scary Joseph and Bob will= look in their costumes. Tom is usually in his mermaid outfit most days anyway,= and I'm usually mistaken for a crazy homeless guy from San Diego= obsessed with football, so we'll both look pretty normal.:)

Looking forward to the splash,

Nic

Jim & Bonnie, btw please let me know about Friday and= the pick-up for the water guns. I usually like to watch the Friday evening news= shows between 6-9pm, so if we could meet before or after that would be great.= Also, if anyone is traveling to Coney Island Saturday morning from Manhattan,= maybe we could take the subway together.

Subject: Re: Mermaid= update

Another long email, but some important info.= Please bear with me...

Last call for scrub pants for Saturday. I'm going= to the surgical supply store Friday at lunchtime to buy them, so if you want= some, let me know. I think we have received requests for pants (or RFPs as= they are known in the mermaid trade) from Nic, Bob, and Bonnie, and I'll get= some for Dawn and me. I'm assuming Thomas, Cath and Joseph are providing for= themselves at least some sort of greenish pants as well as a white tee= shirt.

Craig Milem has dropped out of our mermaid militia, due to a= scheduling conflict. I have not heard from Rosemary Rossi since our meeting last week,= so I don't know if she is still in. I haven't been able to get a hold of= Chris Boynton either, although Matt Siegel told me Chris was coming. That= leaves us with the following "definite" participants:
1. Jim
2. Dawn
3.= Thomas
4. Cath
5. Bonnie
6. Bob
7. Nic
8. Joseph

If= there is anybody else who wants in, now is the time to speak up.

Since we= will be marching with a "motorized float" (Bonnie's jeep), our= designated assembly site is on West 16th Street between Surf and Mermaid Avenues.= All parade participants are supposed to arrive no earlier than 10 a.m. and= no later than noon. I will try to arrive around 11 a.m. The rest of you= please try to be there by noon.

For a map of the meeting place,= see:

If you have trouble finding us, my cell phone is 646-387-7591. I have cell= numbers for Dawn, Bonnie, Thomas and Cath. If the rest of you have cell= numbers, please send them to me (privately if you don't want everyone to have= the number) so we can be in contact on Saturday.

It's always a long= subway ride to Coney Island from Manhattan, about an hour under normal= conditions, and the tracks are currently messed up due to construction. Please= allow plenty of time. See the following special notice from the MTA on getting= to Coney Island this summer:
http://w= ww.mta.info/nyct/subway/coney_island.htm

JOSEPH and THOMAS, please make copies of your flyers for us to hand out.

BONNIE, when are you coming into town? Can we load= the squirt guns (mine and Nic's), balloons and water into your jeep Friday= night? Are we helping you decorate it?

Finally, we will likely get wet= on Saturday. The parade will go on "rain or shine". We're all used to rain= by now, and a passing shower shouldn't ruin the fun. However, in the event= that we face a torrential downpour, we may want to call the whole thing off.= All the more reason to give me your cell phone numbers so we can keep in= touch.

See you Saturday.

Jim
