 Back in my grad school decade , I sat in on a differentiable
 manifolds ( smooth surfaces , any number of dimensions ) course

 who was (in)famous for his loud voice . ( One warm day , when=
 the
  hallway doors were open for a bit of breeze , a topology=
 teacher
  with a class at the other end of the hall came the door ,=
 looked
  in at Bob and us , and pulled the door shut behind him . No
  explanation needed . )

 Apropos my raising the punctuation : once when Bob had filled
 a blackboard with brilliant explanation and illustrative
 sketches , Bob turned to the class and seeing a sea of
 uniformly glazed eyes staring back , said " Well if you didn't
 understand that , I'll say it again LOUDER . "
 ( Incidentally , Bob was , and probably still is , a true
  believer Statist of the econo-socialist streak . )

 Interesting , I'm one of the milder voices on the

 A couple of guys ( from investment banking backgrounds ) have
 absolutely no patience for fuzzy thought and are frequently
 admonished to temper their words to not scare people away .
