Being a rational person seeing= our understanding of our existence a continuing search which did= not stop a thousand years ago , it has galled me ever since to be= forced in many situations to parrot this salute to irrationality tied= to a pledge to my home land . I just pause my mouth thru it . Its addition was a clearly to distinguish US from those= atheist Commies . Of course , all of this is an issue only because of the= government forced monopoly on education . I have gotten literature from an atheist publication aimed at the " rational 30% " . Whatever the portion , we're a much= larger minority than a lot of other more PI classifications . See http://cosy.com/views/index.htm#Misc , Religion , for more on my views on this subject . I think in these days , the shining brilliance of the 1st Amendment prohibition of state establishment of religion in keep our country peaceful all these years becomes apparent when we see the result of the young global UN , creating an explicitly religious state in the middle of the 20th century . -- On Thu, 27 Jun 2002 12:47:10 -0000, aadedicke wrote: >=A0A wayward federal appeals court ruled today that reciting the= Pledge >=A0of Allegiance in public schools in unconstitutional. -- =A0Bob Armstrong -- http://CoSy.com -- 212-285-1864 http://CoSy.com/K/CoSy.htm : =A0Ultimate NoteComputing =A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A0=A02002/06/27 9:28:18 AM
